Site updates and upcoming content

While the Inventory research and organization is ongoing, we also hope that this site can also act as a resource for information and insight in the work of Lawren S. Harris. As we accumulate images of “new” works for our inventory, new connections are constantly being made about how Harris worked as an artist, and the scope of his work and subjects. Consulting on works that are coming to market, or other incidental catalysts also can generate new and interesting insights. On this site, the blog will be a place to communicate some of the ongoing research and insights (and links to videos, lectures or other related content) in a slightly more casual way, while the “Essays and Research” section will usually have some slightly longer and more developed pieces on specific topics. Hopefully this range of content will be of value and of interest to those that appreciate, engage with and are inspired by the work of the artist.

In the coming weeks we hope to launch a few of the initial essays on topics such as dating Lawren Harris sketches, connections between his later abstract works and landscape, and a fair number of geographical explorations of the locations of his painting subjects. In addition, there are a few recent interesting one-off connections made that will soon be added to the blog.
